Born on April 29, 1962 in Izmir, Armağan Özgörkey attended middle school at Izmir Saint-Joseph and high school at Izmir Atatürk High School. Özgörkey then went to the United States to continue his education at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, where he graduated from the Accounting Department of the Faculty of Business Administration.
From 1985 until 1995, he worked as a General Coordinator at his family's company to oversee Coca Cola Turkey's Aegean and Mediterranean regions, as well as Romania. In 1993, he was awarded a distinction as the Honorary Consulate of Romania in Izmir. As a result of the title, he was given the Order of State in 2002. Özgörkey continues his work at the Honorary Consulate of Romania in Antalya. In 1996, he joined the Efes Beverage Group. As the Vice President of the Eastern European Region, he focused on beverage investment projects in Romania. Since 1997, Özgörkey has been the Vice President of the Executive Board at Özgörkey Investment Holding A.Ş., which operates in the plastic, packaging and fruit juice concentrate industries, as well as a member of the Executive Board at Coca Cola İçecek A.Ş. Since 2009, he's also been a member of the Executive Board at Anadolu Etap Agriculture and Food Products, Inc., which operates in the fruit juice concentrate and vegetable juice industries.
A member of TÜSİAD and the Aegean Young Businessmen Association (EGIAD), Armağan Özgörkey has also served as a member of the Professional Administrators' Group, the Izmir and Kemer Country Equestrian Clubs and, from 2001-2006, as the Representative for the Istanbul Province at the Istanbul Equestrian Club. He still serves as the President of the Turkish Equestrian Federation.
Cemal Özgörkey graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA in 1984 with a BA degree in International Finance, following his graduation from Galatasaray Lisesi in 1979.
He started his professional career in 1984 at Özgörkey Group Coca-Cola Bottling Company - Izmir Plant Pre-Mix Department in Turkey. Between 1987 and 1990 he served as Coca-Cola Izmir Kemalpaşa Plant Manager and assumed the position of Assistant General Group Coordinator responsible for all bottling plants within the Group between 1990 and 1996.
Between 1997 and 2018, Mr. Özgörkey served as the Chairman of the Board at Özgörkey Holding, which operates in packaging, agriculture, beverage and real estate industries, where he is still a Member of the Board. Since 2009, Mr. Özgörkey is acting as the Deputy Chairman of the Board at Anadolu Etap Tarım ve Gıda San. ve Tic. A.Ş., which is Turkey’s largest fruit and fruit juice company.
Between 2008 and 2010, Mr. Özgörkey served as a Board Member for Galatasaray Sports Club, where he also acted as Chairman of the Board at Galatasaray Pazarlama A.Ş., the marketing company of the Club. He is a founding member of the Aegean Young Businessmen Association (EGIAD). From 1991 to 1996, Mr. Özgörkey served as the President of Izmir Equestrian Club and he is still a member of Izmir and Istanbul Equestrian Clubs.
In addition to his involvement to sports community, he is a Member of the Board of Trustees at Oglethorpe University, a Member of the Board at Nevzat Özgörkey Environment and Water Foundation and a Member of the Board at Defne and Muhtar Kent Educational Foundation.
Mr. Özgörkey also serves as the Honorary Consul of Brazil in Antalya. On October 17th, 2017, he was granted with the decoration of “Barao de Rio Branco”, which is one of the highest medals awarded by the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil with a Comendador (Commander) degree, symbolizing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Özlem Adalı born in Izmir in 1969. She graduated from İzmir Türk High school in 1986. After her graduation, She attended language courses at LTC College London for 2 years. She attended graphic & interior decoration courses in USA at The Art Institute of Atlanta in 1997. Özlem Özgörkey is Member of the Bord of Directors apart from being shareholder of Özgörkey Holding.
Hülya Gürcan born in Izmir in 1962. She graduated from İnönü Anadolu High school in 1979 ,Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences- Business Administration department in 1984.
Gürcan, started her professional career in Ankara at Turkish Electric Authority-Southern Electric International Inc. MIS Improvement Project as a junior accounting analyst in 1984. Gurcan lived in Lisbon between 1986- 1989. She worked as Strategic Planning and Budgeting Control Manager from 1990 until 1997 at Teba Group of Companies , which operates in durable consumer goods industry.
Gürcan’s career path at Özgörkey Holding started in 1997 as Budgeting and Planning Manager of Etap Agriculture and Food. She was appointed as Treasury and Budget Control Director at Özgörkey Holding in 1999, than as CFO in 2006. Since 2014, she is Member of the Bord of Directors and CTO.
Graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Business Administration in 1998, Burak Koçer completed his MBA at Ball State University Miller College of Business, Indiana in 2000. He received his PhD degree from Istanbul University in 2005 in the field of organizational theory. Following his academic career, he has worked as a manager in the fields of legal consultancy and investment partnerships.
He is currently providing advisory services to families in business and boards of listed companies exclusively focusing on corporate governance and family governance. In 2017, Koçer joined Nestor Advisors Ltd., a London-based advisory firm specializing in corporate governance and organizational design, as Special Advisor for Turkey.
Between 2016 and 2020, he undertook the Local Corporate Governance Expert role in an international consortium led by Nestor Advisors, which advised the Capital Markets Board of Turkey in designing the new Corporate Governance Reporting Framework in the country on behalf of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”).
In addition to his advisory services, since 2020, Burak Koçer serves as an independent board member at Alarko Holding A.Ş., where he is also the Chairman of Corporate Governance Committee. Between 2012 and 2018, he has served as an independent board member at Bosch Fren Sistemleri A.Ş. and Federal-Mogul Izmit Piston and Pin Üretim Tesisleri A.Ş.
Since 2019, he serves as a board member at Corporate Governance Association of Turkey (“TKYD”).
Burak Koçer holds CMB Advanced Level License, CMB Corporate Governance Specialist License, and IFC Corporate Governance Trainer Certificate.
He authored two books and various articles in the field of corporate governance and families in business. His first book “Boards of Directors as an Internal Governance Mechanism” was published in 2005 by the Capital Markets Board and his second book “Bridge of Wealth: Transferring Family Wealth to the Next Generation” was published in 2012.
